Oil Consumption

I live in Hong Kong, for normal usage.

When I am using COMFORT mode,
almost oil consumption shows from the dislpay is 13.5km/L;
min. reached 10.8lm/L(I am so happy), max is around 18.7km/L,

When I am using STANDARD mode, it always taking around 14.5km/L,
min. around 10.9km/L(cool, but only once), max around 19.8km/L(so bad).

Am I normal or my driving skill is not good?

Of course I know it is depends on the traffic conditions too,
but I just want to share and ask how about your situation?

Thank you!

Brando

Sorry, Brando, I think we've lost something in the translation...

Are you referring to Fuel Consumption (i.e. gasoline)? Not Oil consumption, which is a hot topic among the SLK350 users.

Also are you referring to the Autotransmission Modes? C is Comfort, but S is Sport (not standard).

If so, then I don't understand your numbers or your comments.

In theory S mode will get you worse gas consumption (i.e. consume more gas per distance driven), but it will drive "sportier".

Also, you have comments on being happy and cool for the LOWEST gas consumption numbers. These numbers should be your "unhappy" numbers.

Finally, pleasespecify which SLK (or better yet put it in your profile), as there are different engines in each one (SLK200, SLK280, SLK350, SLK55).

Sorry, I am just so confused.

Actually (though it seams wrong) S mode is called Standard in the MB owners manual and not Sport.

Hi, Sorry for my English :P
Yes, it should be 'Fuel Consumption'.
At before, when I got an 2nd hand SLK230, the salespeople also said that S is Sport mode, but when I got my new SLK350, I found the manual said 'S' stands for 'Standard Mode'.. Um.. anyway, I will check my manual again, maybe there has 2 pages in different explanation.

Sorry that I forget this Group - R171, I thought it is all for SLK350 :P
Mine is 350K, 'S' mode give more happiness on driving, the engine reactions is more faster than 'C' mode.

The point I want to ask if my 'Fuel Consumption' on my SLK 350 running in city areas, is it normal?

On the beginning days (Jan 2005), I used 'C' mode for Fuel saving.. but nowadays, I always turn to 'S' mode, more fun.
