Interior Quality

What do you think of the interior specially the material that covers the dash and the doors? It looks like a rough plastic and easily gets scuffed and everything that touches it leaves a white mark. Can anything be done to protect it so stuff won't leave a mark? Thanks.

Its supposed to be anti-glare, not to keen on it, I have to wipe the marks off almost everytime I use the car. I have a feeling that MB will never use that material again.

Mine gets automatic protection. I drive with the top down and the oil its burning helps seal the interior to prevent the white marks. Its like auto Armor-All.

Funny, do you really have an oil problem, why I ask is mine is going back on tuesday for 2 service calls, one is the micro fibre cloth waiting for me and the second is a steering inspection both initiated by MB, I can ask them to have a look at the oil. Used to have alot of white smoke on start up, does not happen now, I am also test driving the CLS (while waiting).

Yes mine is an oil burner. 4.5 quarts in 2100 miles. Plus the dealer has not been to on top of it either. See some of my other posts. Also had the tranny rebuilt at 800 miles. Has not beena good experience so far. I can not even get MB to call me to discuss the issue, that what really gets to me. I just want to know exactly what the solution and plan is. I was suppose to be doing a comsumption test now they want to do that all over again because they did not do that right. I tried to explain that to my dealers service manager but he has all the answers. The wrong ones so far.

How annoying...

You buy a really nice car and it has those sort of problems...very annoying.

redvettx2 I take it your are from the USA, if I had your problems I would give them all to MBUSA (MBUK for me), that seems to work at the moment they are bending over backwards to keep good customer relations (too many bad reports at the moment), I have a suspicion that if there are too many problems being raised by a particular dealer they will take the dealer over, they now own many dealerships in the UK.

Believe me I have dealt with MBUSA & they are not bending over backwards helping the consumer. I have had problems with the regional rep & MBUSA has said they back their rep fully & their is no one else at MBUSA I can talk with.

I am surprised that a good and bad dealers thread has not appeared particulary a USA one, just add the name and why, should create a bit of a stir when the baddies hear about it, also warns others to stay clear. On second thoughts you could have a complete forum on the subject.
