Best Interior Color for Mars Red Exterior?

Between an all black interior and the newly offered Brown nappa leather interior (which I assume will be the same as was available on the 2005 Launch Edition) - if resale were to be a major consideration, which would you as a prospective purchaser on resale prefer for a Mars Red SLK? As an upgrade does anyone have information how much extra the brown nappa leather interior will cost? On resale would you as a prospective buyer be willing to pay the differential?

I dont think it matters on resale whether you have regular black or nappa brown. When you sell the car later, who would say "oh, you have nappa brown on your car, I'll pay $1000 extra for it"? Options are always something that make the 1st owner happy, not the 2nd owner. Personally, I dont think you should consider either color 'cause it will be pretty hot to have a dark interior when the top is down and the sun is shining right at you. I think the ash or beige interior will make more sense. Just my $0.02.

The problem with the ash or beige interior is that they may not wear as well as the dark colors and supposedly upon resale could make the car look more used and thus less marketable. Interested in additional opinions. AS a buyer on resale would you prefer a scuffed up beige interior or a black or brown one that looked closer to new? ANyone have personal experience with both light and dark interiors and whether the above concern is valid based on your experience either in shopping used models or as a purchaser trying to sell one?

My last car an S-2000 had black interior and my SLK has Beige. I love the Mars and Beige combo. Also with Beige (or Ash) you get a two tone effect with black that adds an elegant look to the interior. I think you are putting too much emphases on resale verses what will make you happy while you have the car. I have 3800 miles and had for 5 months and see no wear and tear on my seats. I don't care for the tobacco (brown) color so this would be a turn off to me if buying used. In the end I don't really believe that the interior color chose will have much (if any) effect on trade in or re sale value. Even if it did cause the trade in to be a few hundred less it would be worth it to have been satisfied with a color combo that made you happiest while you owned the car.

Photos look great

How does the beige differ from the stone that is available on most other Mercedes models? The beige looks great in the photos, but the sample in the SLK brochure appears different (sort of a dirty yellowish color) and less attractive. I see neither beige or stone are offered on the C Class and the E Class has stone. Is beige available on any other classes than the SLK Class?

AMG package includes part 1 + AMG wheels + steering wheel with shift buttons.

Yes, you can add the front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper and wheels, preferably from me!

Part 3 is exclusive to SLK55 only. But you can also add it afterwards.

(This thread seems to have gotten somewhat off track.) I grew up in Southern California, and we have not had a black interior in our cars since the mid 60's, even though I now live in the Northwest. Personally, I like to be able to sit in my car on a hot day in the summer when I'm wearing shorts. If it's a business day, I like not perspiring immediately when I start driving if my car has been outside.

We tend to keep cars for long periods (8-12 years), and I have seen no difference between aging of black leather interiors vs beige leather. If you treat them well, they both have their plusses and minuses. I think black shows small wear cracks and light dirt and scratches more. Beige obviously shows darker smudges more. I personally would consider a black interior a negative when shopping for a used car.

I went for Mars Red and beige. It's a beautiful creamy light tan. It is not yellow at all. Besides, it looks a lot like the Ferrari in Magnum PI.

Living in sun country and having a fondness for my skin, I said I'd never again get a dark interior in a convertible. (Any leather can be a problem in shorts, I found out.)
On the other hand white and beige look great when kept clean, but if you are not fanatic about it can get grotty.

Anybody have experience with the blue interior--and what exterior color it goes with?
