I was just reading a recent thread "Ordering my SLK next week...need help with options" and one of the members mentioned that the command screen can play DVD. My question is whether this is correct or not. I do have the entertainment package (no navigation) but do have the large command screen. I thought that in order to play the DVD, you need to install a specific software. However, my understanding could be wrong. If someone can confirm that for me, I would really appreciate it!

 

You can't play DVD movies in the US version. You can play DVDs that have MP3 (audio) files. To get DVD movies on your screen it appears you would have to go to one of the aftermarket guys to either switch your COMAND unit out for European version (big $) or find some aftermarket solution that would tie into COMAND (I don't know of any).
