I have no idea how, but may I ask why you want to? I have noticed that the clear turn signal lens on one of my door mirror housings fogs up when I wash the car. The other one does not. I think there must be a weather seal that is defective, and I am going to let the dealer take care of it next time I take it in. But I was wondering if that might be the reason you are looking to remove your housings?

One of the reasons could/would be because it makes it easier to install the convex EURO mirrors which some believe (I'm one of them ) are better because they have a built-in angle which helps eliminate/improve the blind spot inherent to the US style mirrors.

I want to fit this Chrome housing:

I haven't had a proper look yet, I suspect that trim from inside will need to be removed first.

Mike, I'm not positive on the chrome mirrors, but on most of the rest of the chrome stuff it sticks on, on top of the current, you don't need to remove anything.

Hi,

The original Mercedes accessory replaces the existing housing, much better than non Mercedes stick on covers.

some slow@$$diesels
take the mirror glass out...be carefull with the cheap@$$ pass sider glass as that one will most likely crack and unless your driverside is an auto dimming glass, it will want to crack during removal as well.

take the torx10 screws out that hold the cover...take the mirror motor out...take the cover off.

greetingz,

greetingz,
Thanks for that - I will wait for a hot day, you can see where the mirror is clipped in if you adjust it to one extreme or the other.
