SL NAV System
I have an ED scheduled for early September and my dealer just phoned to let me know that there is a chance they may not have the European DVD ready for my NAV system because the 2006 350s are getting the "SL NAV system instead of the one that is in the 2005 SLKs"
Does anyone know what the difference is?

That's interesting. If true, I hope the change is for the better. After reviewing the NAV in the current 350/55, I wasn't impressed. The graphics are a bit lacking. A friend purchased the Infiniti M45 and it has a good looking/operating NAV. Is it too much to ask for good looking graphics? It can't cost much more.

the SL comand is manufactured by siemens...the SLK comand is manufactured by Becker...both use the exact same intrunk DVD nav drive and the exact same roadmap...
It is not likely that the SLK comand gets replaced by an SL one as that will mean that the E-class and CLS ones will get replaced as well (same unit as the ones in the SLK except for the faceplate) and that all these cars won't be compatible with the Ipod kit (as the siemens comands do not have an AUX in).
