I just picked up my new SLK 350, the manual mentions a windscreen stored behind the seats, does it come with the car or is it an option?

The black net, yes it does. Otherwise the plastic windscreen is a costly option. You may find someone here selling it for 300-350.

Here is an option you may be interested in once you see your net screen does not do much to block the wind.

I guess this is another case of different strokes for different folks. I think this makes the car look tacky. IMHO

Its because only emergency vehicles may have any type of blue lighting. I think these look good though. Duo-Art may have a point on the tacky thing but I'd have to see it in place before I could decide. Kind of an expensive expirement.

Well, I took the plunge...LOL

I bought one and am having it custom Etched with the word designo under the Mercedes Benz name. I am getting mine with burnt orange lights to match the color of my car.

It is due to be delivered on Tues and I will post pics of it here.

Got it today as promised!
WOW! I was not expecting it to be so thick and sturdy!
Looks like a quick install. Remove 2 screws and run wire to illuminate.
I am going to wire to my aux driving lights. That way I can turn it off at night if I want.
I will install it on Fri when I get back into town and post pics.

Duo, I agree with you that it should be done tastefully. I'm not completely sold on the lighting, maybe the etching, but the clear plexiglass has got to be, hands-down, as good looking if not better than the droopy, vision-blocking canvas screen. Just my take.

The video is cool...as is the windscreen! He should have dropped the title in the middle of the screen intead of letting it be displayed throughout the video, though. It blocks the view.
