Smashed up SLK (350?) - Minnetonka Minnesota (pics, videos)
I'm normally on the C32 forums, but thought you guys might get a kick (or a cry, like I did when I saw it) out of this smashed up SLK.
Apologies if this should be in Spotted.
Saw this Red SLK (350 I'm guessing) on the frontage road in Minnetonka near Morrie's Saab/Subaru 4:45PM-ish. Didn't see any other cars, and there were swirling, round skid marks leading up to the rear tires as it rested there.
Damn - I love SLKs.
"I don't know what happened, I was just driving normal, and then the back tires lit up, and there was smoke, and it just took off...no I wasn't driving fast - I haven't had a joint since, like...lunch."
Even broke a nice Carlsson-style (less spokes I guess, but close) rim. Damn.
And some videos of it as well. I didn't change the resolution or anything, so these are like 30MB each.
Sitting by the side of the road.

Drive-by - I've seen that Black WRX at the end several times on that road.

young kid + sports car = big no-no
Damn, what a mess, bet you he was racing with some friends or ppl and loss control, slammed into the wall and told the police he'd slipped on some sand/gravel and loss control.
Thanks for the vids and pics.

Okay, lets figure the best response time for the police to respond to a crash on a highway is 10 minutes. So we are talking at least 10 minutes since he hit the wall. Why is the kid still sitting in an ex-car? LOL Maybe he messed himself?

I wish I had the presence of mind to consider that after such an impact, it would be sensible to stay put incase of any spinal injuries.( AS LONG AS THE CAR WAS IN A SAFE POSITION)

I look at this as proof of the saftey of this car. He obviously hit that pole with some serious speed nad look how much of the front end of the car is GONE! however it appears at least from the pictures that the passenger compartment is completely entact with maybe a little warping of the door but overal makes me feel more sure of the car overall. just my two cents, no hate mail please.
