SLK350
I seem to alternate between really crap cars and when I get too embarrassed I buy a sporty one and then go back to crap when I am fed up of people damaging it.
Mk1 Golf GTI - my first car after university
Honda Accord - really, really old. I had to weld it back together with bits from a fridge
MR2 - the original model. Loved this little car. Eventually sold it to my mum when I moved abroad
Old Ford Fiesta - I bought this the same time as the MR2 as I didn't like leaving the MR2 in the station car park
Opel Astra - 10 years old and trashed. It has about 200 dents all over from a hailstorm last year. I decided to keep this car at the same time as the SLK as I still need some way to transport my snowboard, etc
SLK 350 - pick up 1st June. The embarrassment of the Astra was too much to have as my only car.

Get an SLK in addition to the Rex. If you do unload the RX-7, you would be better off to sell outright vs trade in. Fyi, they are appreciating. KBB went up almost $4k this year on 3rd Gen RX-7s.
See ya,

I was driving a 3-liter Z4 right before I got the SLK350. My reason for getting the SLK was that I only drove the Z4 in good weather, and the SLK has a top! I figured the car might be less of a blast than the Z4, but that I'd use it more often. That turns out to be exactly right.
Before that, I had: Z3 roadster, BMW M coupe, a couple of Miatas (more fun per dollar than any other car I've ever had), a Porsche C4 (still have that), Porsche 944 Turbo, Porsche 928, a couple of Corvettes, a few Jaguars (150s and a 120), and probably a bunch of stuff I've forgotten.
No, I'm not rich, I'm just old, and not very bright about what to do with my money.
I'm very happy with the SLK, my only regret, and it's just a little one, is that I didn't feel I could afford the SLK55. But if I had it, I'd probably be doing hard time now for traffic offenses.
