Brabus 6

Wassup fellass... just wanted some of ur advices here.. someone's offering to sell me their monoblock 6 for my slk.. they are 19 inch rims so that's great, however, my concern here is that i was informed that the size of the rear tire are 10.5... would that be too wide and would that have any rub if i were to lower my car??

10" is pushing it, if I had to do it all over again, I'll go with 9.5" b/c 265 width tires is the max you can go w/o rubbing when lowered. I have no rubber to protect my rims, the tires is really stretched. So my assumption is 10.5" will not fit with 265 tires and will probably stick out like those low riders, probably not the look you want.

Are they real Brabus.......because I don't think Brabus made 10.5 on the Mono VI........9.5 is the max for the SLK.......good luck.....

from what i was told, it was a special order from their (brabus) company that's why it was a 10.5 at the back... and i was told that the lip was really wide but i do may have to shave a fender or so..

Not really an option, the fenders are rolled to the max from the factory. Tried to roll anymore and take the risk of chipping your paint. A member here rolled his SLK55 and had to repaint the fenders. Just a warning, not really worth it, just move on and try to get another set. There are many options out there, my suggestion is to go 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear, that's the ideal setup IMO.

Question

YNOT: How is your ride quality on 19z? Compared to stock 17z?

How about handling? Was it better on 17z versus 19z? Specifically when you turn or weave at high speeds.

Thanks for the feedback.

I like it although it might not be for everyone. The 19's is a little rougher, not really noticable unless you are on a really bumpy road due to the lower profile tires. I also notice that it's little noisier than the 17z but I've found out that it's the tires, Nitto's are known to be a little noisy, Pirellis and or Michellin should solve that.

The handling seems to improve, the 10's in the rear really gives it a solid feel, like it's stuck on the road. No problems turning and weaving at high speed, gives you the confidence to turn and weave faster. Not always a good thing.

Slk350(weekend), Mazda 3s (boosted)
we have 10 inch wide on the backs.. and we are stretching it alot already on 265, so if u went with 10.5 i doubt its gonna fit.. Also, the wheel is gonna be sticking out, since ours does. We cant lower the car. Also, when you stretch the tires, its a lot easier to mess up your rims, since there is no rubber to protect the lip of the rim.
