A lot of good, POSITIVE information here. What's your source?

ME....lol. Seriously though it isn't hard to predict what Mercedes will do once a new engine or model comes out and the SLK and C-Class are pretty much joined at the hip.

SLK55///AMG The MONSTER on the block
Oh well, it does make sense. If the SLK 63 is to be produced in 2008, something will have to be decided shortly. Those waiting and wonder, will have to sit tight. Hopefully, we'll know shortly. Cars (all models) will still be sold in the interim.

If you go to a Mercedes dealer today and orderan SLK what is the current wait...has the demand fallen to a pint where they can issue you a build date staright away?

Thanks.

skip - the wait (for delivery in WA at least) is still not until about November/December in any case. So the extra month for me seemed to make sense.

Nose kits

Hi, my first post on this forum (I have an 03 SL55). I am considering a 2007 SLK55; I like the smaller size than the SL and the engine can be upgraded easily if desired. It may be sacreligious to this group, but I'm not sure about the "nose" on the SLK. Sometimes I like it, sometimes not. I love the rest of the body styling. If, hypothetically, one wanted to change the look, are there any body kits out there with a new front end? I haven't seen any yet. I know it would mean a new hood and new front bumper. Just wondering if anyone has done this or knows of a manufacturer. Thanks.

Bob

The F1 nose is the selling point for the R171. There are no kits that change the nose other than the mercedes badge in the center.

Do you mean:
(a) A vertical Mercedes logo as on the C-class, E-class and S-class?
(b) A flat logo that lies on the hood?
(c) The logo that's already on the grill?

There is already a big logo on the grill.. why would someone want another logo and ruin the F1 nose???!!!!

There are numerous replacements for the large M/B emblem on the nose. I'd rather keep the 3 pointed star. One point of owning a Mercedes Benz is letting the rest of the world know that you have one.
