6 Fins Aerowings !!! :)
Hmmm I see some of you guys here have put on the Aerowings on the hood of your lovely cars!
I have searched on ebay and websites for that items, and here's what I found out
www.al-dorado.com
www.formymercedes.com
Question is:
-Which is the best Aerowings chrome or the silver one?
-Which is better? clip on aerowings? or screw type aerowings? (I hope u understand this hehehehe )
-Where I can buy it conveniently? I lived in Santa Monica.
-Any negative effect on it? whether it may fall of, or it leave some ugly gaps between it and the hood?
hehehe I just bought an SLK 350 and would love to do some make-up on it. I hope u guys can help moi ! thank you so much!!!

I got mine off of ebay, the chrome ones, they had screws, but really easy to install. they also have a 3M tape underneath. They sit in properly and leave no marks.
I got them for $60 + shipping off of ebay from www.al-dorado.com.
They look nice, and I think better than the clipons so they wont comeoff.

my SLK. But, it looks like they the ends extend out over the painted
surface of the hood. Is there any issue with rubbing/scratching the
clearcoat?

they sell the COMPLETE vent at the dealer
my gf paid $150
which is about 95Euros + shipping give or take
its alot easier to get and u know ur getting a quality part
also since its the entire vent there is no complications w/ installing it, it pops right in
SLK55 hood vents thats what i believe thay are called

I got mine from formymercedes.com. They come in either chrome or brushed aluminium. No need for screws or anything as they fit snuggly into the existing vent (honeycomb) structure.
USD79.

MB SLK 350 with pathetic amg parts
I got my Chrome aerowings from Ebay.de
http://stores.ebay.com/DJH-Chromline-Products
I also got the chrome grill from them,
I got my stuff for half of what you pay at piecha.de.
I think they all are the same, but the difference with mine is you have rubber lining underneath the metal/chrome fins, it doesn't scratch your paint at all...
perfect product.
It screws on through the vent.
I reccomend it, because in the end, you pay around 36 euro. I also payed 36 euro for the grill. More satisfaction when you pay less for just as good.
And anything using doubled side 3m tape, even in combination with screws is not reccomended for the fins. must have some form of rubber layer between the fins and vent.
Go for it!
Attached is a photo of one of my fins from that ebay site i got.

Hmmm is there any negative thing about ur fins? i mean does the rubber sits down nicely and not moving?
When i order that, it comes with the rubber right? is the rubber rigid or bend easily ? The pic looks promising hehe

Yeah, I agree Ynot, if I had more money I would get the Piecha fins. But I am buying a few other things so I'd save my money for that than a few wings which I can get later...
Or even no wings look is good.
