Staggered wheel setup vs Same all around
I'm looking to change out the wheels on my 06 SLK55, and perhaps going to the same width all around instead of staggered. I'm staying with 18", so all 4 would be 18x7.5. This would allow me to rotate my tires...
Does anyone have any experience/thoughts?
If I understand it correctly, the staggered setup doesn't really offer any real advantage anyway...

Don't do it. Stay with the staggered set up. That's what comes from the factory. Enough said.

+1, Don't do it.
There's already too little traction in the rear. Why would you want to reduce it?
I can only think of a few reasons: 1) you are trying to buy wheels that only come in similiar sizes, 2) you think you'll benefit from rotating the wheels, 3) it's probably a little cheaper.
Regardless what your reasoning... Don't do it.

Yeah, you're saving $200 on being able to rotate your tires, and you end up spending $5000 fixing your car when you spin out from not having enough rear traction. 362hp and 225 width tires = your SLK55 at the body shop.
