Hi I currently have a new, fully loaded C350 on order but am thinking I'll cancel it and get a SLK.

What are your thoughts? Any known problems? its not a size issue for me, I just want to know its a great car, works as good as it looks, etc. I'll probably have the car for 2-3 years.

In my opinion, it's not one of those cars that is plagued by common problems across the board. Test drive em both and see which you like better. The C350 is a beautiful car, but it'll never come with a retractable hard top

Do you need a 2 seater or 4 seater? If that doesn't matter, then I suggest the SLK now b/c you will be getting a good deal (perhaps on used models).
This is the first year for the new C class. I suggest you get this C class in 2 to 3 years like you planned. In that time, they will have the kinks out of the first year models.

Great advice both, I actually think I'm going with a used 2005 SL500 fully loaded, or a SLK.

I am just 21 and will have to save up until they redo the SL for 2010 or 2011.

You are 21. How many people are going to thinkn the SL500 is your dad's car?
That's another reason why i pick up the SLK instead SL. God damn baby face!
On top of that, the SLK feels more sporty.

I'd take SLK. It looks much better, it is faster, it has better interior. Finally it is convertible.
