2006 SLK 280
Have 2006 SLKs been a reliable model year?
I was looking at possibly a pre-owned one.
I also see the 3 liter engine is very unpopular around here (fewer people have it). I know the 3.5 liter is a lot more fun and better value ,but otherwise, is there anything that bad with the SLK 280?

Don't have any specifics to add. I've been a member of the various MB forums for the past three years. No unique problems that I recall. Most SLK owners are performance oriented and prefer more power vs less. I don't track my car, and is used for cruising on nice days. I could live with a SLK 280 with no problems. It's now a buyers market for buying, new or used cars, or any large ticket items. You might find a well equipped, low mileage SLK 350 for a similar or slightly higher price than a SLK 280. Check all available sources, don't be too quick to buy the first SLK you find. I've purchased two used ones off eBay with great results. I would love to be in the market for one now, prices are so low. Good luck.
