Low Beam Projectors, Way to Tighten Them?
Ever since I drove my 2009 SLK 350 off the lot, the low beam projectors have seemed to vibrate/rattle over very rough roads. Otherwise, they are fine.
This is the standard halogen headlamp projectors.
The headlamp assembly as a whole is very solid. It's just the projector for the low beam that is loose inside the assemblies.
When I have been in behind the assembly to change bulbs, I have reached into the projector area and it wiggles quite a bit.
Is there anyway to tighten the projectors? I don't necessarily see any way to do this, when I have the dust cover off the projector back.
Of course, it could be, all R171 projectors are loose like this. However, I have asked several owners, and they claim their low beam light pattern never vibrates/rattles even on rough roads. Of course, rough roads are subjective.
If anyone knows how I would ever find out how to tighten the projector, I would appreciate it. Many thanks.
