07 slk 280

Hello

I am interested in buying a 2007 SLK 280 at my local benz dealership and was there today. In explaining their higher price vs other similar cars with lower miles, they obviously mentioned that it's a certified pre owned and that's supposed to add value. ok. but they also said that this car has the "sports package". I'm doing research but can't really tell if this does. Motor trend says that it should come with 17" wheels and the ad only says 16". But motor trend also says the sports package comes with a spoiler, and this car does seem to have it. So I'm a bit confused. It's supposed to be somewhat valuable so I really want to see if anyone can help me figure this out.

The link for the car is here: http://bit.ly/k8tkth

I'd appreciate any help... thanks in advance!

Hi tling,

I've got the same car, '06, with sport package. The wheels in the pic are 18" (AMG), got the same in mine. Also, the spoiler, I think, is the small lip on the booth in the pic. SLK doesn't really come with a _spoiler_ as eg. Porsche.

Don't know about the tuned exhaust though, looks stock to me.

Hope it helps,

Muzu

Yes, that has the sport bodywork. The wheels look like 17-inch AMG wheels.

The price seems a bit high honestly. I'd hope you could get a few k off.

Furthermore, you can likely find a 350 for similar price with the bigger engine and bigger brakes. Almost, a why not? Actually 2.5 years ago I could have bought a 350 of the same model year LOADED, and it was still 1k cheaper than that price. Instead I bought new for some reason.

Otherwise, it's probably a great car. Just think you can probably get even more car, a 350, for the same price.

I agree that the price seems high. I bought a 2008 SLK 280 CPO car last June with 17000 miles for $31k.

I bought a CPOed 2008 SLK280 with 20K miles in December for the same price, $27.9K. Hard to tell all the options from their ad but mine is pretty well equipped but without the sports package. Upgraded audio with satellite radio, air scarf, heated seats, wood trim on dash and steering wheel and a few more things I cannot remember. By the way, we love it!
