I have a mid July delivery (allegedly) on an already spec’d SLK350. (Iridium, tabacco, 7G, parameter, airscarf, heated seats)
Looking at various threads here and on the other benzworld forum, it looks like there maybe a chance to sell it straight on with a £3 - £3.5K premium. If that is the case, I will sell it straight on and continue for a while longer with my exisiting car.
I have a couple of questions though, if I did go down that route.
1. Should I get the car registered to myself and delivered to my drive and then sell it straight from there?
2. Would it been seen as a big no-no to even put 300 miles on the clock, to get it back from the dealer for instance?
3. Should I try and purchase it, without getting it registered in my name, so the V5 wouldn’t show a previous owner (I don’t even know if that is possible
4. Is delivery to your door normally included in the OTR MB UK price?
Many thanks for your opinions.

You may need to check the small print on your MB order...... I think the good old days of selling your spot in the waiting list has gone. Somebody recently told me that MB UK have a clause in their terms and conditions that says that an order is non transferable. You can either take the car or give up your place on the waiting list and everyone else moves up one place.Originally posted by FIXEDupW209

Andy, my SLK350 has cost me approx £44k.
extras include command, zenon, AMG alloys, airscarf etc.
I too have been given a july delivery date. (put my name down in january).
Now, I have called up about half a dozen dealerships, and all are quoting a deliveries for orders taken now for spring 2005 at least, which in dealership terms is at least a year.
So my conclusiion is this, for a well kitted out 350, to someone who wants to beat the que, a premium of 10-12% is not unlikely.
If I was offered 5k i would take it, but no less, as our cars will still fetch top dollar this time next year.
