I have a 2007 R171 that the key will not lock or open the drivers door. The key goes all the way in, but will not turn (the car battery is charged-regular lights operate, dashboard lights work also). When I attempt to unlock/lock the doors, the key faub does light up with the red blinking light (I replaced the batteries in the remote and it works) when I push the open of lock functions the light blinks but does not lock or unlock doors. When I place the key faub in the ignition switch it will not turn (I can move the wheel and it is not locked) I also can not hear the normal compression sound when the key is placed in the ignition. I have had many key faubs to thousands of cars, but never had a MB key do this. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Could it be a fuse issue possibly? Thank you!
