Why is the SmartKey an option on the SLK?
Read in the new Mercedes Momentum today that that SmartKey is an option on the new SLK's, why would that be? If it's standard on lower modesl (C-Class), the only reason I can see is that they have something better than the SmartKey and are introducing it on the newest model.
Thanks

Silver Lana-
Wish that was the case, but it doesn't appear or sound to be that way be what MB says:
" The SmartKey is standard on the S, SL, CL, CLK, E, G, and C-Classes, and optional on the SLK."
Doesn't sound too promising...here's hoping though.

It is a mistake on the website I believe. 04 SLK and prior has the similar keys to ML class which still uses the metal part to start the engine.

The smart key is now listed on the MB Canada website site as an option and they also list pewter silver as an available colour!
