Good for you! You are apparently just fine with getting fleeced by a dealer with respect to a "market adjustment" - also known as the stupid tax.

Dealer Adjustment

The dealer closest to my house was "generous" enough to guarentee that the price would not exceed list + $5,000 if I placed the order last April. I made a "Dealer Adjustment" by going to a different dealership where the owner has a firm policy of not charging over list price regardless of demand.

Glad to see fellow MBWorlders are not interested in handing over their hard earned cash to greedy dealers. Worst case scenario, wait a bit and the cars will come.

I also try to spread the word locally to avoid that dealer. They tacked on a big surcharge for the new SL the first year it was out.

No way!

No way will I pay for market adjustment. In fact, I am asking my sales guy for a discount. He's said he'll do right by me.
