SLK/R171: Interested in going in with me on an SLK for $500 under MSRP?

Interested in going in with me on an SLK for $500 under MSRP?
I just placed an order for a 350 last weekend which should arrive late December; X-Mas present! Anyways, a friend of mine was supposed to get one as well and they were willing to take $500 off of MSRP on both cars upon delivery of the second SLK (written on my order contract). I would guess it could be an SLK55 too. Anyhow, he's now leaning towards a Boxster S.
Are people generally paying sticker for these? Would anyone be interested in this offer?

Any interest? There's 5 cars ready for delivery at the dealership right now. I'm expecting mine by x-mas!

1. Iridium Silver/Black - Comfort Pkg, Heating Pkg, Premium Pkg, 7sp Auto, Sport Susp.
2. Iridium Silver/Black - Heating Pkg, 7 sp Auto, 6 CD changer
3. Pewter/Black - Heating Pkg, 7 sp Auto, 6 CD changer
4. Obs. Black/Beige - Entertainment w/Nav Pkg, Heating Pkg, 7sp Auto

If $500 off of MSRP is all you could get, I'd go to a different dealer. I placed an order for a 350 last month in ct. and got $2000 under MSRP and could have gotten more if I played the game a little bit longer. You should be able to get at least $2,500 off MSP with a little effort. Good luck!

You may find it hard to believe but I'm a truthful person. The car at MSRP was $52,850. The price on my contract says $50,850...that's 2K off MSRP.
If you do your homework by knowing the dealer invoice, percent of dealer holdback etc. You can play their game by having all the right information. Also, never buy a car off the floor always order one because there is no floor planning involved. You must also get prices from at least six to eight dealers. Some of the Dealers I contacted would not Budge off of MSRP...others offered $500 off....some $1000....one offered $1500. You MUST be armed with all the prices, get in the salesman's head and play his game. I've been buying cars for 30 years and they all play games..MB is no exception. One more thing, MB is not selling as many cars as you think they are. Don't be fooled, you can get your price..you must be persistent.
