Launch Edition is a bad idea.

The Launch Edition is not worth it. There were two launch editions over at the dealership near me. No options or packages. It was all standard. All Launch editions are Pewter Silver exterior and Tobacco Brown Interior. Ugly colors. Oh and the price was MSRP(46,000) + Dealer's Invoice(10,000)= 56,000. A couple of days later, two SLk 350s, both were iridium silver with one black interior and one ask interior for same price and came with a couple of options and packages. So it was about 58-59,000.

I got the best deal and best price.

I ordered a SLK 350 Diamond Silver / Black Interior
-AMG SPORTS PACKAGE- I am going to chrome the wheels.
-Premium Package
-Comfort Package
-6-disc CD changer
-Blue Illuminated Door Sills that say SLK- this is after market.

I got to get all the options I wanted with the colors I wanted and I only have to play a little under 56,000. MSRP(46,000)+Options and Packages(<10,000)=56,000.

I can see why people are ignoring you SLK 350. I'm sure Matrixband's car is beautiful and you should just keep your mouth shut. Way to go Matrixband! Have fun with it.

matrixban,

Congratulations. The L.E. is a beautiful car. Enjoy it and don't pay any attention to what an envious person might say.
Please post your location.

Matrixband, that is one great looking ride. Those pix confirm that I will have to wait till that color becomes available for other 350s and/or SLK55s.

Beautiful. Plus, you can say you bought it for a good cause (other than your enjoyment; a worthy cause itself)
It's a shame that interior color– or at the very least a darker shade of beige/brown than their stone interior– & those wheels aren't available on other MB's. I guess that's the point of exclusivity, though. Hopefully they'll make those wheels and leather color optional in the near future on other models

I liked the iridium silver,,,,however,,,I thought the pewter was a deeper color and the silver was washed out looking,,,,

Nice ride

Pewter looks good. That interior is excellent. I am puzzled though why the Launch Edition did not include the wood interior trim as the wood trim would really go well with that particular interior. I would not be surprised to see some Launch Edition owners add the wood trim kit on their own once the parts become available.

Launch Edition is all standard, you get nothing extra with it. It looks good on the outside, but why brown interior like that. Its not worth the buck, if you waited one more week after Launch Edition you could have gotten iridium silver with black or ask interior with airscarf, wood trim, entertainment package, comfort package, and premium package. These are some of the some that were in the SLK 350's that came 2 days after Launch Edition and the same price.

Question launch edition

I just talked to the dealer and my Iridium Silver SLK 350 will not be here untill December. However, I have an option to change to a launch edition instead, which is available in about a week. I found a lot of info but no price. I want to know what it goes for, so my parents have a better bargaining power when we go in. If you can direct me to a site or tell me about how much you paid for yours it will be greatly appreciated.

If my memory is correct, the Launch Edition lists for $56,300 approximately.
