yellow side markers

Here in the U.S., the car comes with yellow side markers on the side of the front bumper. Does anyone know where to get clear ones and if it's hard to replace them? IMO they are pretty ugly, especially on a light colored car.

bmwnomore,

I don't think that any SLK's have clear side marker lenses. The U.S. cars have ugly yellow ones and the cars destined for the rest of the world have no side marker lights at all. Consider disconnecting the bulbs and painting the lenses to match your car. That's what I plan to do.

Get the Euro Impact Strip. That one has no side markers.

yellow side markers don't bother me as much as the front license plate.

clear side markers

Has anyone seen clear side markers yet? I'd love to get some if they are available. Also, what is the euro-strip that Sorlo mentions?

The "euro-strip" is something that doesn't exist for the R171 SLK or W209 CLK or W219 CLS. The strips are molded into the bumper, so a hole is milled into the regular bumper and the side marker lights are just stuck on (which is why they stick out as opposed to other cars which have a separate strip).

See the MBenzNL website for more information on impact strips.

The blinker light on the old 94'-01' model Acura Intregras could be taken apart and with a small hammer, you can break the yellow portion of the blinker to give it a clear look.

Has anyone tried this on their SLK's? This would be a much cheaper alternative to painting it. Probably looks much nicer too, and get a yellow bulb to keep the police from harassing you. Clear or white blinkers are illegal in most if not all states.

It's funny how things come back around. That's MY car! I wrote that question over a year and a half ago. I finally found them and the website is Euroautolights.com. I was very happy with the company, quality and fit.

Nice pix ! My lenses arrive Tuesday - hope they look good on white. I like the fact that they match/blend with the mirror light lenses. I'll try and post a pic when I am done with the install.

They are here and installed - took about 30 minutes, incl. cleanup. I highly recommend a
Torx bit on a short-handled ratchet driver - made it go quicker. They look great. Will try and post a pic later on.
