windshield + MP3 for SLK350
Hello everybody !
can any one help me with these 2 questions :
1. does anyone have the original CATALOGUE part number of the mercedes 3 parts windshield as seen on the photo attch ?
2. does the NON DVD/command = the normal cd palyer play MP3 cd's ?
or does the 6 cd canger play MP3 ?

The normal radios for the SLK will not play MP3s. You need COMAND to do that.
The CD changer supplied by default will also NOT play MP3 files but you can order a specific changer to do that. Check on the E Class forums for details. By the way, the COMAND and CD Changer units on both cars are identical.

regurding the MP3 cd changer - will it work with the Audio 20 ?
my dealer i such a ****** giving me no idea the COMMAND playing MP3 (i didnt order it Bcos i doeasnt work where i live ...) and now i have to pay the price !!!!
is there a way to plug APS 20 to Ipod ?????
any ideas how do i solve my lack of MP3 ????

You want the ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE- it comes with the Command Screen and the 11 speaker Hardon Kardon system and the Logic 7 Surround Sound System (I think thats how you spell it). Also you do get the 6-disc cd-changer and there is a mp3 outlet in the glove box on the right side wall (inside the glove box). I am not sure if the mp3 player comes standard, because you might not even have to get the upgrade. The ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE w/ Nav-Upgrade is everything above, but with Navagation (obviously).
I have the SLK 55 AMG with Premium Package, Airscarft, Lighting Package, Entertainment Package w/ Nav-Upgrade and it is a really nice sound system.

Ignore the above post - you just need COMAND. You casn play MP3s with it and you are also prepped for the iPod interface - when it becomes available.
You apear to be from Europe hence no packages are offered.

. I told him he does have to get command and the only way to get that is by getting the Entertainment Package, which comes with Command, 11 Hardon Kardon Speakers, Logic 7 surround sound, and you can play mp3 players on it. That is the only way to get command. Now I said there is the Entertainment Package w/ Nav Upgrade, I mentioned this so he knows the difference. You can;t get Command by itself, You have to get the Entertainment Package to get COMMAND.

i've allready ordered my SLK and it has the APS 20 regretfully !
now the help is needed with finding a solution for that !!!!
what can solve my problam now ???

The COMAND APS is €3248. The Logic7 Surround is €766. The CD changer is €459. All available separately.
The E-class does come with the MP3 changer, at only a few €€€ more; don't know why it isn't offered for the SLK. Probably because it generates a lot more heat and the SLK doesn't have room for a fan on the changer like the E-class has.

I am in the United States, maybe they have different options for the sound system in Europe. I know for a fact here in the U.S. you can not get the Logic 7 surround sound system by itself. And I never heard of the APS 20.

I have the Premium Package with the Harmon/Karden Command w/out Nav. The Command has been replaced already because it was faulty, now the CD player in the dash isn't playing MP3s and sometimes it does not eject.. so tomorrow its going back in to the dealer for a fix... According to the manual and the dealer, the Command should play MP3s..
Wish there was an option to add Navigation to the Command (so I can activate the DVD player)

The DVD drive in the COMAND unit has nothing to do with Navigation. If it were possible to activate the DVD Video playback you shouldn't need Navigation to do it.
