Parktronic problem
Hi,
My new SLK 350 has the parktronic option. On the afternoon I drove it home, I realised that the
front right sensor was always giving the maximum warning even when there is absolutely
nothing around the car, all the other sensors seem to be working fine. However, I turned on the
engine again later in the evening, all parking sensors were functioning perfectly, and nothing
unusual happened the next morning. However, when I drove the car out in the early evening of
that day, the front right sensor malfunctioned again. I just took the car out for another drive
a few minutes ago and all the parking sensors were working fine.
I've checked the user's manual several times, I'm 100% sure that all the sensors were as clean
as possible when they malfunctioned, I also don't believe there had been any interference
described by the manual, since the same sensors malfunctioned no matter where I drove the
car to while all the other sensors were working fine. The only difference between the malfunction
conditions and normal conditions that I can tell is the temperature, it was always pretty hot (28+
degrees) when the sensors malfunctioned, and it was always pretty cool when they were working
fine. I cannot seem to find any mention of this in the user's manual, would you guys have any
ideas?
Thanks a lot.

happened? I'd have the whole unit changed in a heart beat, except that
I cannot reproduce the fault now.

MB SLK 350 with pathetic amg parts
becareful it might be the number plate perphaps. Some numberplates where they are quite long sometimes interfere with the front two middle sensors.
