DISCLAIMER: I am a newbie so please be kind if I have posted in the wrong spot.
I purchased my gorgeous "new" convertible this past March and, much to my disappointment, was told that it did not have a factory remote start. I've checked with a few installers and they claim that they cannot add an after market RS to my vehicle saying that they don't have the electrical schematic. They claim it is a "Mercedes thing".
Can this be true? Is there NO way to add remote start if it did not come factory installed? I live in a climate where it is freezing for 5 months out of the year & I would really like a remote start. You are probably wondering why I purchased a convertible then; well it does have the heated air scarf and there are the other 7 months to look forward to. I just figured that I could add it later like I did with my previous vehicle.
Has anyone had this same issue and, if so, how did you solve it? It is very frustrating! If I had known that you could not add an after market RS to the vehicle I may have gone in a different direction.
