Mercedes SLK 350
Trust the dealer? Estimates..
I have a 2014 SLK 350 I bought 2-3 months ago. It had 32k mikes, now 34k miles. As I was planning a long road trip from St. Louis to Maine, I thought I would have it checked out. It’s been running fine but just wanted everything checked out. Dealer offered to do a 29 point “deep” inspection on everything.
Two hours later, the service advisor tells me the car checked out fine, everything is good but he “suggests” the following.
Replace cabin filter. Labor $30, total $156.97
Replace air filter Element. labor $30, Total $129.50
Brake fluid exchange. Says needed 2 years or 20k miles…labor $175: Total $239.58
Differential, Rear Axle-change oil. Labor $140, Total $180.87
Replace Battery (after test) labor $135, Total $421.19
grand total….$1128.11
Now, is any of this necessary?
Please advise.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Some of that like the filters are a easy DIY job. Better yet take the car to a local MB shop and have them do the work. It will be close to half that price.
