Tachometer stopped!, why?

Tachometer stopped!, why?
I have 2012 SLK200 R172.
The tachometer will stop after the needle sweep. Cay you Please help me.
It works during start-up sweep-up.
This meams it may be misconfiguration of
the data? if so which data?
The trouble started about six months ago when we worked on changing the torque limit.
If I can't solve it, I need to replace it with a used tachometer and make it recognized.
Please tell me the procedure as well.

My friend's SLK200 R172 had had the same fault, luckily I was able to locate the issue and fixed it yesterday.
I corrected the item "Tachometer (Technometer_mode)" from "Dynamic" to "Standard" by manual coding (offline coding) in the instrument cluster, then it works fine.
(The scan tool I used is in Chinese, so I translate the wording to English, the wording in your scan tool may vary.)

I corrected the item "Tachometer (Technometer_mode)" from "Dynamic" to "Standard" by manual coding (offline coding) in the instrument cluster, then it works fine.
(The scan tool I used is in Chinese, so I translate the wording to English, the wording in your scan tool may vary.)
Hope that my experience can be your reference.

my Tachometer trouble was Fixed!
You are right!
So, key parameter is the mode parameter.
I did not need new meter assembly.

Nice having a working Tach
Can you explain for the rest of us all the steps you had to do in order to get it to work? If so you may save someone else the year process you went through. This forum seems to be the only resource for someone with your type of problem.
