Hi guys, im planning on buying a 2002 SLK32 AMG in yellow with 3,500 miles on it. It will be my first mercedes. Could you guys give me a list of things to look for when i go look at the car. Also what questions should i ask the owner of the car. The last thing is it's a california car, so do their emissions standards affect the performance in anyway? Hopefully ill have an AMG by the end of the week
Thanks,
Andrew Morris

In addition to this forum, you'll find answers to your questions at http://www.mbnz.org
I owned a 1998 230k and loved the car to bits. Well, I upgraded since then, but from what I've heard, the 32 is a sweet car.
Also, you can find info at http://www.slk32.com
And finally, if you take out http://babelfish.altavista.com , you can translate the german pages of http://www.mbslk.de
There are things to look out for, of course, such as NEVER buy an SLK that was rear ended. The roof hydraulics system is sensitive to collision and might never function the same after repair, so make sure the 32 you're buying is mint. A lot of little annoyances were fixed after the year 2001, and from what I've gathere, the 32 is quite reliable. In addition, a relatively cheap pulley upgrade will net you up to 390hp giving you a VERY sweet little boost in power.
Hope this helps.
