Valentine 1 Power Source

I just purchased my first SLK 32 and I want to hardwire my radar detector in the car. I've looked at the fuse box, but most of those appear to be light fuses.

Does anyone have any sugesstions as to where I can tap power for the detector that would turn on/off when the key is on/off?

There is more than one fuse box in the SLK32, which one are you looking in?

I'm looking at the one at the driver's door inside. It appears most of these fuses run lights and not any full time power sources.

There is also a fuse box in the engine bay and I believe one in the trunk. You might have to just run a longer wire through a hole in the firewall.

I used the hardwire kit came with V1 box. It was much easy. You can check on http://www.slk32.com/pages/v1install/v1install.html I didn't install display so I put V1 on the left side of mirrow instead of right. I am very satisfied about my installation. I suggest you can try this way.
