2003 SLK32

I had a SLK32 years ago and always missed it. I have the opportunity to purchase another one. It is in really nice condition inside and out with only 12000 miles on it. I have no idea of what it is worth. I guess only what someone is will to pay. I think that they will one day be a modern classic. What do you think is a fair price?
Thanks Gene

It looks like it is great shape and nicely optioned (well, Xenon headlights at least ... guessing full phone prep with 6-cd changer and maybe voice-control as well?).
Has it been stored inside?

I have purchased 3 SLK32s over the years all with less than 35k - if they are stored inside, the low mileage means a lot more than if they spent a lot of time outside (then AGE is a bigger factor). The last SLK32 I bought only had 15k miles and I paid $15k for it, but that was in 2009. I still drive/love that car driving it 2-3 days a week (taking turns with the SL55 and F250).

KBB suggests for the mileage, the slk32 you are looking at is worth as much as $16k .... and I would tend to agree, If they are asking $15k or less, I'd buy without thinking about it twice.

Cheers,
Chris

Here is a pic of my 3rd (with the interior I stole out of my 2nd SLK32 ... nothing was wrong with the original interior, I just like the red/black as it is uncommon)

Yours is beautiful, love the interior. He is asking $24,000. It was originally a California car and always stored in a climate controlled garage.

Well, we both know that however overpriced it may be, this is still a lot of car for $24,000 ,,,, but, I suspect the seller will be holding onto the car until the end of time with that price. How long has he had it listed? Is the car in your area now, or would you need to buy it sight unseen or fly out? I have made a few long distance purchases over the years and 2 out of 3 worked out well.

Have you found any comps that suggest that this price is not as crazy as it sounds.

at 15k this could be a good investment ... at 24k this is FAR less likely, BUT at either price, it is a great car : )

I just looked at prices of SLK32s (currently offered, "complete" listings would be more revealing) and this pricing is SURPRISINGLY inline with other offers. When I saw this car listed (with 35 pics) I did see that it is now closer to you (easier to pickup) and that it seems highly optioned (does include the voice-control which indicates it is fairly loaded) AND the birdseye interior did not seem to show the "fade" of an SLK32 that has been outside too much (so that is good). There is a bit of touch-up needed on interior bits and I have to wonder about the driver's seat outer bolster that is "out of view" in the seat shots ... and the seat uppers look like they have some odd "puckering". The apparent lack of floor mats should be a negotiation point AND, I have found that insisting they demonstrate all seat heater elements work often creates a good opportunity for more negotiation (as all 4 rarely work and a dealer-repair requires replacing the AMG seat covers ... so you might knock off a "thou" on that alone).

I give it extra points for NOT having holes in the front bumper for a plate : ) ... but really wonder how it could ever sell for more that $16k

Cheers,
Chris

I hesitate to describe this one as the "blue light special" but is seems VERY well priced at $8500 with 68K miles AND it has the rare black/red interior.

Facebook Post

AND, it's not so far away (in Myrtle Beach).

this one might be a "deal" (no front plate holes on this one either : )

EDIT it may have already expired (the link from facebook did not work ... but it is still in faceboock marketplace as of today)
