I do not have any skill or training in this, but I went to Phantom Electronics, which are very good with stuff like what I am about to say, and the guy at the desk told me all you have to do is take the GREEN WIRE and attach it to the GROUND WIRE. He then said that you are able to play DVDs. So don't buy a new command for 400 dollars or more,, try this out first. I might try to do this myself, if I do I will post pictures of the process.

After you attach the wire how do you select VIDEO on US Command's that don't even have the selector button like European models?

good question, before I came to the website I was just thinking of that too. The guy at Phantom Electronics did not look at my car or anything. He just told me green wire to ground wire. Someone should try it and tell us if it works.

So someone gives you a "too good to be true" easy "pie in the sky" way to hack a US Command to play DVDs and you want someone else to void their warranty trying it and then let you know if it works? It's your idea so why don't you try it and let us know how well it works?

Yeah you want me to void my car warranty, so you can see if it works? I worked hard for my AMG, you try it spoiled brat! If you break it, tell your daddy to buy you a new one!

Just for SLK 55 AMG, I couldn't resist this time.

Quote 1 from 1st message) "I might try to do this myself, if I do..."

Quote 2 from 2nd message) "Someone should try it and tell us if it works"

There ain't a whole lot of commitment from you to do anything other than sit back on your **** and wait for someone else to connect it up and test it for you, is this just a one off or is this the theme to your entire life???

SLK 55 AMG user is not very bright, why would he ask one of us to try it, when he could try it himself. He stated he not skilled in the first post. How skilled do you have too be to attach the "Green Wire" to the "Ground Wire"?

Also I highly doudt this is a solution...

What he really should have said is this........

Look at this modification shop I live near, they stated that you could bypass the DVD restriction by simply connecting one wire to another. I maybe a huge idiot, BUT I am not stupid enough to try this myself. So anyone who's brain capacity seems smaller than mine, could they please try this?

In My Opinion, it seems too good to be true as well. I bet the guy at the modification shop really told him this as BS, so that he would void the warranty on his car and the shop worker would get a good laugh!

As we ALL know, in most cases, in most things electrical, the "green wire" IS the ground.

The shop guy was just jerking his chain.
