Where are the US destination SLK 55's built?

Where are the US destination SLK 55's built?
Someone keeps insisting they are assembled in the US in Alabama.. and that only the engine is made in Germany..this makes no sense as my car arrived in the US by boat....

German All The Way
I believe SLK's are built in Bremen, Germany, with the engines built in a city not too far from Stuttgardt (something like Afaltersbach) which is home of AMG. Only the M-class vehicles are built in USA - specifically Vance, Alabama.

All SLKs, without exception, are made in Bremen.
For the AMG, the engine is manufactured in Affaltersbach and then shipped to the Bremen factory. The US-bound cars are then shipped from Bremerhaven and, very seldomly, Wilhelmshaven to several US ports. The Alabama plant does not nor has it ever mnufactured SLKs.
