Disappointed w/ MBUSA SLK55 Options
Within the US, MBUSA prohibits ordering an SLK55 with the full range of twelve Designo paint colors and eleven Designo interior colors. Instead we can select from three Designo color combinations. The full range of colors are shown on the MB UK web site. Also, outside the US, the Designo color prices add different incremental charges for the SLK350 and the SLK55, as the AMG starts with a better interior. The UK price list shows that pricing difference.
Also, outside the US, it is possible to select two different colors of Alcantara headliners, also shown on the linked sites.
Additional options, not available in the US, that may interest some are the parking sensors, tire pressure warning system and trunk storage tub.
It makes sense to me that MBUSA should permit consumers to select from the full range of color combinations and headliners. It make sense to me that MBUSA should change the pricing to have different charges for the AMG with Designo, as it starts with a better interior.
There are consumers who know what they want and are willing to wait for an ordered vehicle. MBUSA is not meeting the needs of those consumers.

I just had this discussion with my M-B sales associate yesterday. Granted, here in Canada, we do have more designo colour options than the USA but we are missing out on the other options as well...
