HP numbers are calculated on a different formula in the US, then over in mainland Europe. In Europe, the 55 has 360hp, whilst in the states, this number is 355.
An SL55 in Europe has 500hp, in the states, it's just over 490 (if I remember correctly).
It's the same amount in KW I believe, but just isn't measured in the same way.
