SLK55 AMG
Well, I will get my SLK55 MY 2006 on 9th of September, but my dealer sent me already the info about the iPod kit, and ordered it. It is an option that is installed at the dealership, so you cannot order it from the factory.
I understand it is already available, and if you want I can get you the part numbers (I got a long letter from the dealership with all details about this option)

Phoenix, can you post the letter? the Parts Department at my dealer (Ray Catena, Edison, NJ) told me it's not avialable for the SLK yet but should be soon.

Hi Shark, sorry but I got the letter via fax, so I might have to scan it. It is in German (my dealership is the main one in Stuttgart) and it states (among some marketing about the benefits of the iPod integration) that the kit is available already or latest week 34 (that is, last week!) for some models (R171 among them) The part number for the SLK R171 is B6 782 4209.
I fear that your dealership is too lazy to check directly. My dealership got the info via an internal memo from DC AG dated 23 of August.
Hope it helps, but if not let me know. I will pick up my kit tomorrow morning, in preparation of my trip on 9th to Bremen to take delivery of the car!

Phoenix55, this is one of the reasons to specify your location in your profile, to help avoid confusion.
The release date for something in Germany from MB may be vastly different than in US.
Thanks.

bloflin, I stated clearly in my message that my delaership was in Stuttgart, Germany. What confusion can be possible?
I will update parts of the profile, though. I believe that this is forum is not just for USA, so I also don't understand how anyone can assume that by default, any member is in USA...

It was a simple request, that is echo'd a lot to all new comers. Not meant to be an insult. And where does the USA only crap come from.
Look back at your first post in this topic on 8/25 at 6:14am (local time stamp):

No mention of location in post or in your profile.
Next Shark, who is in USA, asked if can you post the letter, to help him with his dealer.
My point is that in this case, your dealer letter (in Germany) might not help Shark (in the USA). But he didn't realize it.
Simple really, so please calm down.

forget the wait on the ipod
The best part about the Nav station is the MP3 compatibilty, just burn your playlists and fav's. works great and sounds good. There is a 1/8 jack to put your audio in in the mini glove box if front. the Buddha
