I would say no. Although it looks good on the car, it is very rice. Trying to imitate the lambo's doors, might as well put a 2 foot spoiler on also...

just my 2c!

I like the doors ALOT.. There is nothing "RICE" about them at all. The wheels have to go though, they ruin/cheapen the look of the car.

I vote that you should be banned if you ever do this mod. Along with the ban, you should be forced to join a Honda Ricers board.

Good luck!

If you wanna do that, atleast do it correctly by getting a FAB-Design LSD kit. It's a lot more expensive, but it also works in one continuous motion, rather then the two-way motion of those 'fragile' LSD doors pictured in the post above.

FAB design LSD includes the body kit as well and all the FAB design stuff....

in other words it comes in a package...

U-G-L-Y and chock full o' rice

Besides, I highly doubt it will increase resale value either since most mods don't

I spoke personally with the FAB-Design guys at the Geneva car show, and they said they can do the LSD door mod separate from the rest if you want. Of course they will try to sell you the whole kit tho' (they just want the business).

But this LSD door mod was not quite so simple, required strengthening of the door frames (increases weight) and due to this, also costs well over $10k.

I would say, don't ruin your car and buy a nice body kit if you want a more exclusive touch for your R171

The issue that I would be concerned with is the structural stiffness of the setup. The door structure of the regular SLK55 is designed for two hinges, which distribute the weight and stresses. That door is pretty heavy. How stong would one hinge be? How precisely would the door close?

Don't do it, it's different and fugly, all it does to the car is add shock value, if you want that than get 20" spinners.

I'll pass. I don't like doors that swing out a bit.

I have a bad experience from them... kinda funny now that I think about it...

Rice Rice Baby.....

Just a personal opinion but there should be a law that allow vertical doors only on sports cars costing over $150K. On anything less, it's RICE....
