this must be at the flywheel. having 550hp to the wheels is a bit out of the realm of reality. especially when most all mbz's are bHP (at the flywheel)

Kleemann calculates Hp @ the flywheel on their in house dyno so people will know the impact of parts they procure & get installed @ Kleemann in Fort Collins, CO. I personally think they should provide both flywheel & RWHP .

Its JamTheMan55 .

I was told its another week (arrgh, cry me a river, eh?). Apparently, my car is the 2nd full Kleemanized SLK55 in the country (and the first to be done outside Kleemann's shop). The race shop doing my work went through a learning curve (ie putting the rising rate fuel regulator outside the gas tank for easy access vs inside the tank + some other small stuff - like the big headers fitting in that tight SLK frame - not like an E55!). Kleemann also sent the wrong LSD...just stupid shiate has been prolonging the process (including poor John, the owner, getting his hand fractured/stitched up 2 wks ago at Button Willow when their F2000 race car frame fell off its stand - ouch).

The car has been put together for 1 week awaiting dyno time & neccessary reprogramming of the ECU from Denmark after each pull. Its just going to take more time as they don't work on weekends & I "think" the shop is not quite as efficient in speed of these adjusted ECU program downloads as Kleemann. Its getting done, just at a slower, albeit just as meticulous, pace. Its 1 more week, not another month, I can wait.

Have a good weekend!
-Matt

lol That's sounds great Matt! Can't wait to the beast. And if it takes another week so be it. It's worth the wait trust me! As far as being exclusive, you don't see too many fully Kleemannized SLK55's out there. So yours is definitely ! Sorry to hear what happened to John. In any case pls keep us posted! Have a good and safe weekened. Time to put my Kleemann custome on for holloween.

430 at the flywheel

Yes, and perhaps some 100 octane petrol I also use in my RX-7 when I turn my boost up. Actually, doubt I'll need more power....traction will be a gating item limiting acceleration. Time to call Fiske & ask for widest rim/tire the SLK can accomodate (think its a measly 265, but hoping for 275s...285s would likely require fender rolling....I'll find out soon).

I'm hoping when I get home from work my email has initial dyno numbers from the shop. Its time as they had to have the ECU reprogrammed once already (engine was "gagging" at higher RPM before even putting it on a dyno). I'm hopeful the Denmark gang's new program allowed a decent 1st dyno pull so at least some tuning can take place. See ya Ian.

Kleemann

I have a Kleemann Supercharger installed on my '04 SL500. I have to say I was a bit skeptical about spending 15K on a supercharger - knowing that they are all ridiculously overpriced, but... It is the best money I ever spent, it has transformed the car into a different animal. The fit and finish are flawless and I've had no problems - NONE after 8K miles and I'll be damned if you can tell the difference from a stock 55 to my car. The power delivery is seamless and feels like a factory car. Not one hint of aftermarketness. I had a CLK55 with an HPS - and well that was a ridiculous piece of crap that I could have used as a boat anchor compared to the Kleemann. You get what you pay for fellas.

What exactly do you have on your SL500 besides the s/c? Any other mods? Which shop did you get the installation done? Post pics pls.
