This should be the standard arrangement.
Did you install this yourself? If so, was it difficult?
Please advise.
Thanks!
Using this link as a guide ( http://www.projekt-online.de/14306.html ), actual installation only took 5-10 minutes. You'll need a torx bit or something that will fit the 2 screws. Everything else snaps in place.

I'm selling mine, check out my post in the classified section if you're interested. I reverted back to my original antenna for the time being.

There's been some talk about the R170 antenna working better if it is secured tightly almost to the point of stripping the threads. Well, I just wanted to say it did nothing for me.

Actually, it was kinda fun. Why? Because I was in just my boxers in the garage performing this task. It was early morning. My wife had left and returned opening the garage as I was parading around. Perfect timing as my neighbors were taking a morning walk and stared at me for a while. I know they usually are just checking out the car, but I think they were checking me out this time.

Did you install the door pins and if affirmative how? I guess the compartment tray is a MB part correct?

I had C2Design do it, took them 2 minutes. It isn't very hard at all and works like a charm.

I guess you purchsed the part at MB correct? I would have to install this on my own since I do not have C2Design in Washington

The top "interior layer" has to come down just a couple inches so you can reach in and connect the garage door opener. There should be a input for it. You should have no problem doing this in your own garage.

Hey dsb, what's with the old fashioned temp dials?

Do '06s come like that or did you do it?

I believe that that is the non-automatic temp control system...

Yes on both counts and the door pins simply screw on. No big deal.

Falco is right. The premium package for $1470 included several items in '06.
-Garage door opener
-Rain sensing wipers
-Auto Climate control

I didn't opt for it as I did not feel is was a good value. 1) My garage door opener is small and on my keychain. 2) I don't drive this car in the rain. 3) The climate control was of only real value and I didn't think it was worth $1470 by itself, especially since others have bought it for roughly $300 on ebay. I figured I could do the same if I so choose. I could also buy the garage door opener from MB if I wanted to get rid of the keychain remote.

I think the premium package makes more sense on the 280/350 models because you get more options for less money at $1200
-Garage door opener
-Rain sensing wipers
-Auto Climate control
-Interior Ambient Lighting (standard on the 55)
-Smartkey/Remote Roof (standard on the 55)

Anyone want the MB R170 stubby PM or email me. I was unhappy with the FM performance where I live. 55 bux and it's yours. I will pay the shipping.
