how is the LSD supposed to work in tandem with ESP. Is the LSD driven by the car's computer? Does ESP kick in after LSD does? I am curious to see how this works as it is very significant drive train mod.

JamE55,

The car should be finished very soon. C2Design is working on getting this car ready ASAP.

Leto,

This is what Kleemann has to say about their LSD.

KLEEMANN's LSD mechanically couples both drive wheels together. The wheels are always coupled, which doubles the effective contact patch to the road. This increases the threshold at which the wheels will start to spin dramatically. Unlike the OE solution, the wheels may never spin and ESP will not intervene, this is an active approach to limiting wheel spin. Given the appropriate tires, it is possible to launch a 600 hp vehicle from a dead stop with no wheel spin using the KLEEMANN LSD. Reductions of as much as .3 seconds to 100 kph (60 mph) have been recorded.

cant wait to hear how the LSD works out for you. I am definitely ineterested come summer. Getting good traction from a dead stop has been a issue with the 55.

The Kleemann LSD works fine, actually better than the stock AMG unit found in the other blown AMG cars (Kleemann's supposedly allows for less wheelspin due to a 60% vs 30% lock up ratio from the AMG unit). You can read about it on Kleemann's web site.

While an LSD helps, it can't hold back all the power - ESP still engages unless you are travelling at about 60 - 70 mph. Wider rims/tires will also help increase traction - but just a hair - there is mucho torque & power.

Here are some more pictures. LSD is in, Kompressor is done. Now I'm just waiting on the K40, LSD doors. I ended up getting a Kleemann rear valance so I'm waiting on that to get modified and painted. Below you will notice pictures of the Kleemann rear valance, it's unpainted and unmodified, I also included some a picture of my new SLK55 AMG illuminated door sills which C2D will install. I also replaced the stock antenna for the short stub. Enjoy everyone.

jcanabal and dsb,

Thank you, I'm glad you both like the way the car is coming along.

Dsb,

I'm getting more and more impatient day by day. I'm just glad it's all getting done the right way....

Thank you for posting progress! Hreat Job!

BTW: the people at CCW wheels (located at Daytona) are working to get measurements for our cars....obviously they need a car to measure. I'm not entirely sure the 030 vs. non-030 are the same (although I think there may be in terms of brake clearance)......so, anyone in FL can help the rest of us to get wheels by having their car masured??

Please...

jcanabal,

I would try to help everyone out by having my car measured but I don't live near Daytona.

Here are some more pictures everyone, I included some pictures of my new carbon fiber Schatz shift knob installed, the modified Kleemann rear valance (modified to fit the AMG quad tips exhaust) and LSD doors. There will be some other special modifications coming soon, I can't wait for all the work to be completed. Enjoy

Great Pics.. C2D does amazing work!!! I was just checking out your car when I was there a couple days ago. Your car is a beast.. That Kleemann blower is very well built and should propel your car like crazy .

In that 3'rd pic that's my CLS55 on the rack getting the K2 & I/C pump.

When I first read that you were modifying your Kleeman diffuser to fit the AMG exhaust, I thought it wouldn't look right. After seeing the pics, I think it looks pretty damn good! Keep the pics coming. I really want to see that thing painted.
