Yes, we all remember the C-coupe.
Exactly why the SLT (assuming Mercedes Benz is actually thinking of building this thing) should never see the light of day - especially if it looks like this bad.

It doesn't make me as violent as the new R.....when I see the new R, I just have such evil thoughts.....of hatred and rage.

I voted for it is quite ugly based on the photo.
The scale may not be right, shorter the better.
And, if it does not copy the whole of SLK frontend but give another design of the grill, headlamps ; then it might be worth looking.

Looks like a winner to me , there are pictures of other Shooting Brake SLT's that look better. The combination of small size, perfromance and the flexibility of the hatch will certainly sell in Europe, it probably will never come to the US because most of us think bigger is better and do not like hatchbacks....IMHO this is aslo a great looking car....

The Z4 coupe due to a longer sloping back looks relatively ok & it is much...much better than the ugly z3 coupe.
The cayman is making two door coupe/hatches desireable......i see the cayman staying and others falling by the wayside over the next couple years.

I agree completely - the Cayman is here to stay. The Z4 coupe is fully thought out and deserves its chance to shine. The SLK is already a hard top coupe that can drop the top and become a convertible. No need to reinvent the wheel with the SLK.
Perhaps a SUPER HIGH PERFORMANCE version of the SLK with a fixed carbon fiber roof (like the new, fixed roof Corvette Z06) may be in the AMG test area?
