to NOS or not to NOS!

Gentelmen,

we all love our SLK55s ... some of us would love to Kleemanise it .. some loved the fact that SLK55 is NA .. for those who don't want the blower, I for example don't need to keep the engine under pressure all the time so i thought of adding some NOS .... any ideas ??

last week I raced an E55 from stand still, his nose was right next to my tail light.. till 140km when we reached the end of the road.

yesterday i raced another E55 this time from around 50 km .. my A S S was handed to me

i was like hitting my brakes

that time I hated my self why i don't have that little extra ... that's when i thought about NOS...

also, i contacted kleemann, they said the only close kleemann center is in Bahrain and they quoted me 125,000 AED that's around 33,000 US $

for kleemann stage 8 .. blower ..LSD ...etc

since i lived in UAE, I thought it will be easily for me to NOS the car and use it only when i need it

by the way... our MB local dealer is the dealer also for MKB .. they offered me an mkb pakcage that will make my SLK 403hp .. i didn't get the full details but it was some headers & MKB computer chip ...etc for 50,000 AED that around 14,000 us $ ofcourse since it's from the dealer it will stay under MB warrenty and 1 year for the MKB parts.

when i asked about removing the Vmax only they said 5000 AED that's also around 1400 US $

If I was you....I'll go with MKB.....maybe less powerful than the Kleeman but can't beat the warranty issue from your dealer!! Will it be enough to kill an E55????? don't know!!

and you are 100% right about the warrenty issue. i think if i wait some time maybe we might get more info on the AMG 400hp package if it will be available for current SLKs...

i thought about the NOS coz it's very easy for me to have . lot's of people here do it for their cars.

do the nos, just make sure u dont do 2 much. i know a guy w/ a s500 w/ a 125 shot. that thing hauls ***. he was running faster times than me at the drag strip
when u wire the tank hide the lines, when u take it to the dealer take the bottle out and they will never know its there, unless they do some serious work

I'm curious what times you run with your car?

im not sure, but i would probably stick to a 75 shot and u might have to put the injectors from the 55k engine, thas what that dude w/ the s500 did

at palmdale in CA (high elevation, about 4500ft i believe)

13.8 @ 99.xx
for comparison, my brother (m3, stock) ran a 14@ high 97's

Hey..

R u crazy??

Don’t NOS your Car,,,

& regarding E55… most of them here in UAE are already tuned…"+500HP"

I can't wait to drive my SLK55, it will come next Feb.

Also the warranty will be invalid if you put NOS for your car.

It doesn't worth..

I don't do NOS in any of my cars. Have known alot of guys over the years who have -- but I just won't do it. I suggest you don't either. There is always another car out there which will outperform yours, doesn't matter what you have.
MKB might satisfy you with some extra power which you seem to want; but my advice is enjoy your awesome car for what it is...and it is NOT a dragster(!).
