OK, I remember now. Dynamat is good shiznit. Do you really appreciate the difference? And I wonder how much of a difference it made to do most of or the whole trunk vs. just the deck lid?

I am "thinking" of putting a couple 10's in the trunk so the Dynamat goes both ways.

The 'again' was in reference to my hearing again of the reasons for doing so. Several folks have dynamatted their trunks/rear deck lids, used fiberboard, etc. and have posted on this and other forums sites. I have paid attention to it from time to time...and sometimes lose track of the "why's"....
Looks like you did a helluva job btw. And adding a sub would of course be another reason for doing so

Well, the credit goes to a guy named Chris at Sound Advice. The portion that is visible to the eye on the trunk lid will eventually be covered in suede, I think that would really complement the trunk.

Dinko, You are a Mod Freak! Slow down, homeboy. It seems like your car is in for some sort of upgrade more than it is in your hands. You should ask the shop to start putting in their share of the car payment.

In the market
hey...how much a difference did it make in your spare tire well? My trunk has crazy dynomat, but the stereo rattles the hell out of the spare tire well. I was thinking about doing one of three things:
1. Dynomat it
2. Take a car of that expanding foam and just exploding it in there (we were thinking shake the can up, put it in there, and shoot it with a pellet gun...will video it if we decide to do it )
3. Remove the spare tire well and replace it with a steel false floor.

I dynomatted my G35C substantially (doors, wheel wells, floors and trunks) and noticed the difference big time. Eliminates outside noise pretty well. Also, I had a nice stereo system, and it improved overrall sound substantially.
The downside is dynomat is fairly heavy, therefore if you are one of those types who want the lightest car out there, probably not for you.
I'm debating whether to upgrade the sound system currently, but if I do, I'll dyno the car for sure...

Adam, your crazy, I would put a false floor down and dynamat the ***** out of that, that allows the C to return to stock when you get rid of it
Dinko, I dunno who did that trunk lid but in a few instances when dynamating trunk lids I have used silicone to solidify the welding points before applying the dynamat.
The ML has 44sq ft, 2 rolls in each door and then three on the trunk lid, night and day difference.

If you ask C2 Design (for example), those guys hate how I expect my car to be done 10x faster than others, I make sure when something gets started it gets finished pronto!
Mod Freak? Nah... I just want the car to be as luxurious as it is sporty. Some things I do make it faster, some make it heavier/slower, and others make it unique. Unique is all that matters to me
Brunelleschi, I don't keep the spare tire in there or the other tools. If I ever do encounter a flat, or other fault, I'll probably be very mad but end up calling Roadside Assistance.
