Front Turn Signal replacement

I recently purchased stealth bulbs to replace my front turn signals. Has anyone changes out their signals, and if so how is it done?

I thought it would be a simple reach under and remove the old bulbs but that's not the case. Before I start "experimenting" on their removal and help would be appreciated. (I searched this forum without any luck on the subject).

Thanks very much.

The bulbs are in a holder which twists and then slides out of the lamp housing.

That doesn't seem to work on the SLK, I know my W203 was that way but unless I'm missing something that won't work on these signals, not to mention it's almost impossible to get your hand to the bulb???

Anyone done this on an R171???

Good luck. I gave up after nearly cutting my arm off. I don't understand how people have done this before... maybe on a 350, 280, 200 with a smaller engine?! Anyways, if you find a way, let me know.

I will be attempting this tonight, if I figure out a trick I'll pass it along.

The good news is the bulbs can be removed with a little effort, mostly getting your hand in behind the bulb, the bad news is I bought the wrong bulb type
