The Crystal Cove Delivers Again!
I know this is off-topic, but I am positive you guys can appreciate these beautiful cars. I was at the Crystal Cove exotic car meet again this Saturday and saw some amazing cars. This was a once in a lifetime kind of gathering. There were so many awesome cars there. I was left speechless. I just can't resist sharing these with my friends here at the SLK forum.
The highlights were:
1; Two Lamborghini Murcialago LP640s. These are the Murcis that are enhanced up to 640 hp with a top speed of 205 mph. There are only 6 in the U.S. right now and LAMBO of OC has all 6! The guys from LAMBO of OC said that they easily got them both over 200 mph on the toll roads. RISKY! They say the LP640 is the best performing car they have ever driven - and they have driven them all.
2. A Red Saleen S7 driven by Steve Saleen himself. Steve has built a 57,000 sqaure foot shop in Orange County which will serve as the Saleen headquarters. At 750 hp, the S7 is probably the fastest car built in America. And with a pricetag of nearly $1 million, it is the most expensive too.
3. A Ferrari Enzo. Just took everyone's breath away. This car is just head and shoulders above anything else ever made. The funniest part was when a parking attendant gave the Enzo a ticket for parking on a red curb. Hilarious. I figure that this Enzo - in absolutely mint condition - is worth about $1.2 million.
It isn't everyday you get to see four cars that could easily crest the $1 million mark. I just had to share these with you.
If any of you are in the Orange County area, this exotic car meet is really worth your time. See my prior posts on the subejct to learn more.
Enjoy the pics below and take care!

Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing. It would be great to go on a little rally with those cars.
BTW, Is it just me or do you dislike the LP640's wheels too? Don't get me wrong, I'd take the car in a heartbeat, but those wheels are a bit funky.

I don't mind the LP640 wheels. Interestingly, the front wheels are flush while the rear are recessed a bit. I suppose that is to accomodate the wider wheel and the rear braking system. May have something to do with the Murci being all-wheel drive.
I like seeing cars like these because it keeps things real. The arguments over the SLK55 vs. the BMW M3 have much less significance.
Take care.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing. Nothing like South OC to shake thing up in the world of trivial auto pursuit.

Awesome photos! I went to an exotic car rally last summer and I know exactly what you mean; to see all these stunning works of engineering in one place is a great experience. I remember the Enzo, it was parked in front of an F50, and as flowing as the F50 looks, I could not keep my eyes off that Enzo. Thanks for sharing!
