Kleemann

I was just wondering if anyone has a Kleemann SLK. If so could you post pics/share what the driving experience is like?

NOTE: I do see the other thread with the hybrid SLK... I am just interested if anyone has a complete Kleemann car and can share some insight on wha the driving is like. The website says SLK 55K S8 will get you going 0-62 in 3.9 seconds!

Don't have an SLK but do have a full S8+ and lets just say it's fast.

Sorry I mislead you, I meant hybrid in regards to the fact that it has Kleemann, Brabus and AMG modifications. I did not mean to imply any sort of alternative engine variant.

1. There is no such thing as a "complete" Kleemann car. You can have a complete kleemann naturally aspired car or a complete kleemann supercharged car. On top of that, there are different options like LSD, wheels/tires, suspension, brakes, even interior and other accessories. If you were to install every single kleemann upgrade available, it would make no economic sense. On top of that, it may not even be the best thing to do performance-wise. For instance, Kleemann wheels and brakes very heavy, there are lighter options available.
2. 0-60mph means absolutely nothing because it is traction limited. A stock SLK55 is capable of 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds with proper tires, it is nothing impressive. Car and driver tested stock SLK with stock tires at 4.3 seconds 0-60. What IS important is is 1/4 mile times and trap speeds, as well as WHP. Kleemann SLK with supercharger, headers, and cams makes around 485whp and runs the 1/4 mile at aprox. 11.7 @ 120mph.
3. All this info is already available on the forum. The search feature is your friend.
4. Some of the fastest mercedes's are "hybrid". And Awai04, I'm not talking about electric hybrids lol

never goes wrong with more power on light cars. this is why i love slk more than SL. *i'd better get on flight b4 the R230 owners me lolx

Tuskir, complete kleemann cars does exist. a kleemann dealer in my area sells a CLS 350 with complete kleemann conversion which includes the engine modifications, exterior and interior trims. They're asking for MYR 930,000 (approximately 253,333 USD) excluding tax. i don't know about you guys, but that price tag is more than a Ferrari 360 Modena here

SLK 55 AMG
A Kleemann with a full kit will surely do faster then 3.9 seconds. Several magazine tests have shown that it can do 0-60mph in as low as 4.3 seconds (one guy got a quarter mile of 12.2 with slicks), and Kleemann says that their LSD will take this time down by .3 seconds.

The famous SLKR beats an Enzo, and it has only a little bit more power then a Kleemann kit with 596hp, and of course the Enzo is very fast at something like 3.4 seconds 0-60mph...

So I think those numbers are conservative, just like most numbers from MB are when they talk about their cars.

So basically, whilst MB says that the SLK does 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds and Kleemann says that the car is an entire 1 second faster, I'd reckon with the right tires and weather condition, you might as well take off another entire half a second to find out the time of a fully Kleemanized SLK.
