Our Facts:
1. We attended one of the largest auto shows in the world in which nearly one million people will attend.
2. As in years past, Mercedes Benz had one of the largest, most elaborate and professional exhibits at the show.
3. We actually SAW an Excelero and took pictures of it. The Exelero we saw and pictured was obviously pretty heavily used and had some scars and scratches to prove it.
4. A man hired and educated by Mercedes Benz told us - without any doubt - that there was only one Excelero made and that the one we were seeing was the one that did the famous and well publicizied testing and went 217 miles an hour on the track. He also said that there were never any plans to put the car into production and that it was made to "test tires."
5. There was a nice written presentation on the Excelero as well, retelling the entire story just as the MB rep had communicated it to us.
ClayJ's Facts:
1. Talking out of his ***.
You make the call.
In the end, he says that it is "no mystery" that MB made three and that they are going into general production. But it seems to be a mystery to Mercedes Benz who decided to deceive everyone at the autoshow - both verbally and in writing.
Maybe ClayJ is going to produce them himself in his secret laboratory? Or maybe the project is so clandestine that Mercedes Benz itself doesn't even know about it. I think Osama Bin Laden has a fourth one. It's George Bush's fault for not finding it. Yeah, that's it.
Hey I said it. Now it is "published" and "public information."
Isn't that a little
.
I got my answer at the autoshow. We did have a good laugh over this at Brabus NA in Newport this afternoon. So, at least it was worth something.
Ps. I come in here, spend my time and post some pics of the show and this bozo calls me ignorant. Be sure to see my final post on this below for the coup de gras on this whole issue - it is pretty funny.
Your facts are wrong; there are three specimens. It's just that the other two are at ClayJ's homes in Dubai and Monaco, respectively.Originally Posted by Beleriand

The factory has been consistent in describing it as the sole example. Here is the original press release:

If they built three they're treating them like a state secret.

To be completely honest, after the Veyron (and my first look at the Audi R8), I wasn't impressed with the show at all...
99% of the cars on display I've already seen... and those I have not, nobody would let me get near.

luckily, u werent there when they turned on the dreadfull, big flop, Fire Lane preview commercials with huge volume blaring on that screen behind the Koennissegg, where the Enzo, Saleen and Carrera GT was. they should have kept these cars in theyr respective brand stable. kinda dissapointing. i was done in 2 1/2 hours
That is why you always need to go on the preview night. It costs some green but is way worth it. Total access to all the cars, no crowds, good food and super hot women.
Next year, attend the preview night if you can - it is worth every penny.
