I just had my 1st service performed on the car. This morning after I arrived at work, I noticed a faint burning smell. upon checking the oil (i hate not having a dip stick!!), the car says "reduce oil level". I am taking the car in tomorrow to have a service tech check the level and adjust as needed.

Do you think that the extra oil is the cause of the slight burning smell?

My dealer always mentions to me that it's better to keep the oil level at slightly below average, then over on the SLK 55 AMG.
