SLK55 Black Series air intake

Does anyone know the difference between the Air boxes on the Black series SLK55 and the normal AMG SLK55?

If there is I'm wondering if it is an actual upgrade. they do state that they put in high flow air filters and another thing I noticed is that it has high flow headers.

try others

Considering how hard it is to get black series parts ... I'd recommend going elsewhere.

You can get a variety of better filters, Green, K&N, etc. I use the 3rd actually just can't ermembe trthe name atm.

Also plenty that provide headers ... some are legal some are race only ... up to you.

I agree! I'm wondering if they put cams in that car for it to have 400hp or if this was done by ECU programming, the headers and the higher flow intake?

Anyone have an idea?

probably

just headers, intake and ecu. its only an increase of 55 hp at the crank. Easily explained by those 3.

More towards headers, and ECU programming.

How do you like your supercharger? How much HP did you end up with? How much boost does it run?

Is your maintenance any higher? Like having to replace sparkplugs more often?

maintenance is nominal

No increase in maintenance. ONly thing might be changing the oil a bit more.

I think this system runs on 6lbs boost either that or 7.

Ended up with 400hp at the wheels SAE corrected.

That probably ends up being about 460-480hp at the crank. I want to say Kleemann has a supercharger setup that ends up with around 600hp at the crank.

Shrug

People choose thier vendors very careful dependent on thier needs. To be honest I don't know how you can possibly put down that much HP. I have enough difficulty as is.
